About the Role:
An international construction and contracting organization is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join its finance team in Cairo, Egypt.
The ideal candidate will have a solid background in construction accounting, financial reporting, audits, and ERP systems, with at least 5 years of relevant industry experience.
🎯 Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable & Receivable:

Manage the full accounts payable cycle — invoice verification, posting, and reconciliation.

Review vendor statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.

Oversee accounts receivable, ensuring timely collections and follow-ups.

Maintain audit-ready documentation in line with internal controls.
Treasury & Petty Cash:

Oversee daily treasury operations and ensure effective cash flow management.

Monitor bank balances, prepare payments, and handle transfers.
-
Manage petty cash transactions with accuracy and accountability.
Closing & Audits:

Support month-end and year-end closing activities — accruals, provisions, and reconciliations.

Prepare audit schedules and liaise with internal and external auditors.

Ensure compliance with IFRS, GAAP, and local accounting regulations.
Teamwork & Leadership:

Supervise and guide junior accountants.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Procurement, HR, Operations).

Recommend and implement process improvements to strengthen efficiency and accuracy.
📘 Qualifications & Skills:
✅ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
✅ Minimum 5 years of professional experience (preferably in construction/contracting)
✅ Strong knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP)
✅ Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.)
✅ Advanced MS Excel and financial analysis skills
✅ Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
✅ Strong attention to detail, organization, and deadline management
✅ Fluency in English (written and spoken)
